October 2009 – John was invited by the State of Louisiana to participate in “The Louisiana Composer Project” - an exceptional recording program organized by Carondelet Music Group. Working with the Louisiana Department of Economic Development, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Musicians Union (AFofM) in New Orleans. Along with SESAC's Vice President, Ashley Miller and other Los Angeles composers, John headed to New Orleans for the training project, which brings together some of Hollywood’s most recognized Film and TV Composers and New Orleans’ most talented musicians and recording engineers who are interested in working in the film and tv music sector. The training program is an intensive two-day session. The primary goal for the Composers’ participation was to train orchestral musicians in the particular skills necessary for a career in Film/TV score recording.  Each Composer conducted and recorded their work with the the 70 piece orchestra, that included members of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
