Napoleon Dynamite
Every time I tried to put guitars on this film it sounded too sophisticated and sexy for the main character. I like to describe the sound of this score as two keyboard players set up in the corner of a room whose usual gigs are bar mitzvahs and weddings. They are overly enthusiastic about how awesome they are. There is something over-the-top about this score even though it's so minimal, that makes it funny. The drama and sometimes bad-ass quality of the composition just can't be taken seriously with those cheesy keyboards performing them.
